V&A East Museum Set to Open 'The Music is Black: A British Story' Exhibition

V&A East Museum announces its first major exhibition, 'The Music is Black: A British Story'. Located in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the honorary exhibition is championing Black British culture, through spotlighting the impact of musicians and their contributions across Grime, Reggae, Jazz, Grime and more. The Music Is Black: A British Story will explore the past 125 years of UK music history across including ‘BBC archives of 1900s composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and Trinidadian pianist Winifred Atwell’, pioneering collective Massive Attack and singer-songwriter Eddy Grant.

Set to open in 2025, it’s confirmed the exhibition will follow the careers of current leading artists: Little Sims, Jorja Smith, Kano, Ghetts, Ms Dynamite and more. Not only will their history and work be reflected across photographs but also videos, fashion, film, sculptures and paintings.
